According to MapGnome, 2 non-official versions were recently released, and I have not received any contact from who these people may be. Fortunately for us, they left a way to tell the real and fake versions apart: the real version of 0.93 has a file size of 1654 kb, while the fake 0.93 has a size of 1731 kb. (Also, the real 0.92b is 1665 kb, while the fake is 1740 kb.)
I did not find anything obviously different with the fake, but it is slightly larger in file size, as explained above. Whoever made these better be able to explain what they changed and why they did so without contacting the mapmakers first.

Hey hey hey nar its none other then MantisScreamer/Mantidz/Mantid, hows your map going? i saw someone host it and I joined and played with them, seems good, lots of balance changes to go of course but that will come with time. Some UI upgrades would be nice too (like by your name it says your heroes name when you type text like in dota, and maybe a slightly cleaner leaderboard). Anyway i play on west as MantisScreamer i'm on fairly often so go ahead and send me a pst.
ReplyDeleteThe map is alright, big problem is that everything looks way too confusing. To many different looking stuff on the same screen 24/7. I hope this well get fixed.
ReplyDeleteMari here, I say instead of using these lame comment boxes after each and every post, we use an actual chat channel, I know a good site that will provide for free and you can embed it onto the site easily.
